Sunday’s are days filled with calm and anxiety. By day I’m relaxing enjoying time writing, reading, doing yoga. By night, I’m beginning to lesson plan and go over my mental checklist for the week and do my laundry. It’s easy to get overwhelmed in monotonous tasks and become consumed with fear about what things the week can unexpectedly throw. But tonight I’m taking time to set aside my anxiety and to enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation with my fiancé. Tonight I take some more time than normal to refresh and reset.
What is it about that Sunday anxiety? So many of us have it...good for you that you were able to put it aside. I need to try that more often!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Jen! Some weeks are easier than others but a Sunday ritual I've tried to implement is to watch something together with my fiance so we can relax and spend time together before the week begins.
DeleteThe mother of a teacher I know, who was herself a teacher, described it as "having the Ed Sullies"...when the Ed Sullivan show came on, Sunday night, the anxiety kicked it. I call it that now!
ReplyDeleteThank for reading Maureen! The Ed Sullies is funny :)
DeleteI just had a load of laundry finish up and was going over my schedule for the week on my phone...Sunday anxiety is REAL. My worst night of sleep all week is always on Sunday, too, I've noticed! Yuck! I'm glad you got some rest tonight to get ready for the week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Katy! yes, Sundays can be tough. Wishing you a great week!
